Legal Links 3/1, First Ever Weekly Round Up

Happy March. That means March Madness, Shamrock Shakes, green beer, and people who really don’t want to be kissed but wear pins and other accessories that say otherwise. You survived February, the most miserable month of the year. It’s also frozen food month, foot health month and nutrition month – thats neat. Here’s your weekly wrap up:

LeBron danced shirtless in a king outfit, and he announced that he will continue his pre-game dunk routine. There’s a golf tournament happening. Duke lost to Virginia, Virginia fans stormed the court, and Coach K cried about it. NFL teams want to know if Te’o is gay. Some other stuff happened in the NFL. Kobe thinks he’s 25 again. Steve Nash is still 40. Chicago’s hockey team has won a lot of games in-a-row.  Democrats and Republicans can’t get along up on the hill. They should give up sequesterin’ and start being equestrians. Speaking of, food testers are finding horse meat in all kinds of foods these days. People were shocked when horse meat was found in Taco Bell – SHOCKER!

Uh’Oh Te’o

by SamInJax

Breaking News!!! Lance Armstrong, Manti Te’o and his ghostfriend ghoulfriend girlfriend to move into a studio appartment together and film a reality show. Oprah will host.

One reader, Derek J., commented, “I can see it now, Manti comes home to find Lance on the couch making out with the cushions. Manti yells, “LANCE!! THAT’S MY GIRL!!” Lance yells back, “I DIDN’T DO IT.”

Just kidding. Thats not true. I made it up. Well the reader comment is real. The rest is false.

Sorry. I am working on scheduling a daytime talk show to make a public apology, stay tuned.

Here is the true story of what is going on with the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax.

NBCNews.com released an article laying out nine discrepancies surrounding the Manti Te’o dilemma. Here is the full article below.

By Tracy Connor, Staff Writer, NBC News

College football star Manti Te’o says he was the victim of a cruel hoax, an elaborate scheme in which he fell for an imaginary girlfriend named Lennay Kekua and mourned her when she died of leukemia.

But he still has a lot of explaining to do.

The narrative crafted before and after the expose is full of conflicting information and holes bigger than those in Notre Dame’s defensive line during its loss to Alabama.

If Te’o wants the public to believe that he was nothing more than a dupe, here are some of the questions and inconsistencies he’ll need to clear up.

1. Notre Dame says that Te’o never met Kekua, that their relationship was strictly online and by phone. But the player’s father gave the South Bend Tribune a detailed account of how the couple first met at a Stanford game in Palo Alto in 2009 and rendez-voused in Hawaii after becoming a couple in early 2012. And Te’o himself told ESPN that she was the “most beautiful girl I ever met.

2. Te’o called Kekua “the love of my life.” His parents said they believed they would get married. Yet if Notre Dame’s account is to be believed, they never met even once, or even Skyped. It beggars belief.

3. Before her leukemia “diagnosis,” Kekua supposedly was nearly killed in a car accident. But published profiles of Te’o have conflicting dates — late 2011, last January, or as recently as April. Why the discrepancies?
