The Chicago Bears Martellus Bennet Suspended Indefinitely After Altercation With a Rookie

by Sam Ranard

The Chicago Bears tight end, Martellus Bennet was fined and suspended indefinitely today after throwing down rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller. Bennet did not seem to regretful or remorseful for the after-whistle scuffle.

Bennett commented, “Every single play I’m scratching and fighting” Bennett said. “Same way I play every single day. I go hard every single day. I’m probably one of the most violent people on the field.”

Bennet then pulled out his inner Allen Iverson, “It’s practice. Practice is practice,” Bennett said. “At the end of the day it’s practice. In practice, (stuff) happens. You learn from it, that’s why you practice. You learn from things that happen in practice.”

The Bears’ general manager Phil Emery told reporters that the length of the suspension would be for, “an undecided length of time.”
